SL250 Quartet Consists of four sawing units
The HewSaw automated Log-In infeed system models the log and feeds it to the Chipper Canter in the most optimal sawing position. The Chipper Canter chips four open faces. The Scanning Conveyor profiles the cant and feeds it to the Cant Saw which saws and edges a maximum of four optimised sideboards. The Separator Conveyor control drops the sideboards to the transfer table. The cant is turned, centered and fed into the Ripsaw machine which curve saws and edges up to four optimised sideboards. The second Separator Conveyor control drops the sideboards to the transfer table and the remaining cant is then fed to the second Ripsaw section which cuts the cant into center pieces.
