The Veisto Group started its operations in 1964 when the Rautio brothers developed the first balk hewing machine for their own use. With further product development it was turned into a canter ideal for sawing of small logs. Although the machine was originally developed for their own use, word of this revolutionary invention spread amongst the sawmillers. The groundwork was laid to manufacture the saw machine on a large scale.

With a long path of product development, HewSaw sawing lines started to attract worldwide demand. The R&D including the focus on own electrics and automation knowledge were heavily invested in.

Year 2008


Veisto Oy has grown to become one of the leading manufacturers of high production saw machines. Over 300 sawmills count on HewSaw sawing technology. HewSaw factory is modern and headway in its field. The third generation carries on the good work started off by the fathers, not forgetting their roots.
